Listed below is the NSF CIP Code Crosswalk for STEM disciplines.
Note: The codes have been modified to be more aligned with the codes as listed in IPEDs
and expanded to include disciplines/majors at community colleges.
All STEM disciplines reported in WebAMP are classified. Multidisciplinary fields
should be consistently reported with the primary degree-granting department.
Do not enter an individual in more than one discipline.

Example: 40.0510 Forensic Chemistry is a sub-category of 40.05 Chemistry, therefore, Forensic Chemistry would be reported under Physical Sciences.
